Savour the influence of Gypsy culture and folk melodies on music from Hungary and beyond. Hear how great composers in late 19th and early 20th century embraced authentic folk melodies as a basis for Hungarian nationalistic expression, infusing their work with warmth and vigour. Solo works of dazzling virtuosity are married with orchestral sounds of rich colour in this program of enchanting melodies and joyful exuberance.
